A great lesson from my mail.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway.
Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.
Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables.
Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road.
After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.
After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been.
The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.
The peasant learned what many of us never understand.
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Nail In the Fence
This is an interesting article that I extract from an e-mail.
Do appreciate the meaning of the article.
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.
His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail to the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.
Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.
He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all.
He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by hand and led him to the fence.
He said, “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say, ‘I am sorry’, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.”
Friends and family are very rare jewels, indeed.
They make you smile and encourage you to succeed.
They lend an ear and a shoulder.
They share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.
Show them how much you care.

FAMILY
When a stranger ask for help,
I will drop down everything,
And say, “Sure, how may I help you?”
When a friend ask for help,
I will say, “Sure, give me a second.”
When a kin ask for help,
I will grunt and say, “What? Can’t you do it yourself?”
We usually are polite to strangers,
Using common courtesy,
We took friends for granted,
But we never went overboard,
But how do we treat our loved ones?
Young and old,
We seem to abuse them.
We seldom realize,
How harshly we spoke to our family,
How tears that had filled their eyes,
By this time,
I felt very small,
How I wish I could muster enough courage,
To kneel down,
And apologize,
But every single time,
My pride gets in the way,
I don’t even utter a word of sorry,
And yet,
They love me anyway,
And I love them.
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)FATHER (A)AND (M)MOTHER (I) (L)LOVE (Y)YOU

Kids Think Quick
I get these jokes from an e-mail.
It must be frustrating to be an adult with a bunch of smart kids.
Being an aunt with two smart nephews, these are déjà-vu.
Thus I had made up my mind not to be a teacher no matter how noble the profession is. My sanity is at stake.
Enjoy.
TEACHER : Maria, go to the map and find North America.
MARIA : Here it is!
TEACHER : Correct. Now class, who discovered America?
CLASS : Maria!
TEACHER: John, why are you doing your math multiplication on the floor?
JOHN : You told me to do it without using tables!
TEACHER : Glenn, how do you spell "crocodile?"
GLENN : K-R-O-K-O-D-A-I-L.
TEACHER : No, that's wrong.
GLENN : Maybe it s wrong, but you asked me how I spell it!
TEACHER : Donald, what is the chemical formula for water?
DONALD : H I J K L M N O!
TEACHER : What are you talking about?
DONALD : Yesterday you said it's H to O!
TEACHER : Millie, give me a sentence starting with "I."
MILLIE : I is...
TEACHER : No, Millie..... Always say, "I am."
MILLIE : All right... "I am the ninth letter of the alphabet."
TEACHER: George Washington not only chopped down his father's cherry tree, but also admitted doing it. Now, Louie, do you know why his father didn't punish him?"
LOUIS : Because George still had the axe in his hand.
TEACHER : Now, Simon, tell me frankly, do you say prayers before eating?
SIMON : No sir, I don't have to, my Mom is a good cook.
TEACHER : Harold, what do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no longer interested?
HAROLD : A teacher.

I Wish You Enough
In life,
Friends come and go,
No matter how much effort we contributed,
No matter how much laughters and tears we shared,
No matter how many punishments from our crazy ideas,
We teased life,
We cheated death,
Without the burden of the world,
Till the day,
Our chosen paths start to bring us apart,
Further away,
This is when we exchange goodbyes.
Our next meeting,
Might be in an hour,
A day,
A year,
Or till the day I die,
I may not see you again.
I had nothing for you,
To get you ready for the challenges ahead,
Apart from my friendship,
Our memories,
And one final wish,
I wish you enough.
Enough sun,
To keep your attitude bright,
No matter how gray the day might appear,
Enough rain,
A chance for you to be the laughter in the rain,
No matter how tears,
Had surrounded your life,
Enough happiness to keep your spirit alive,
To keep you smiling,
No matter how the world is throwing obstacles at you,
Enough gain,
To satisfy your needs,
No matter how insignificant it may seems,
Enough loss,
To appreciate what you already possess,
No matter how long it will be in your possession,
Enough hellos,
To get you through the final good bye,
No matter how reluctant you are,
I can only wish you enough.
