Why Do People Lie?

We lie because we are afraid,
Afraid of the unknown,
Afraid of the consequences,
Afraid of what others will think,
Afraid of what others will find out,
The closely guarded skeleton in our closet.

Every single time we lie,
The thing we are afraid of,
Grow stronger,
As one lie leads to another,
One fear leads to another.

Life is about risk,
Is about the decision you make,
Yours and truly yours,
There is no perfect solution,
There is only your ability to face the music,
Choose with caution,
But do not be afraid to choose.

Once you have chosen,
Do not look back and think,
What if I make the other choice?
There is no turning back,
And regret is not a good teacher.

What decision will others make?
Their choice will be their choice,
They will face their own consequence,
Regardless sweet or bitter,
It’s theirs, and truly theirs.
